Artist Statement
I am interested in the interactive process of storytelling. My work and research revolves around Mexican folk stories, cultural healing traditions, and superstitions.
The intent is to capture and explore, through artistic expression, the shared narratives, myths, and cultural traditions that have been passed across generations. By applying visual language and recording fragments of these narratives, a dialogue emerges between past, present, and future.
I have been working with a number of different approaches from combining prints with found objects to the traditional practice of sewing. As I investigate and create, my work draws on the complex parallels of human experiences.
